Tayong Dalawa Woes: Why Everyone's universe is solely centered on Dave?

When Tayong Dalawa started, I was confident that the story would not drag even if it would last for 6-7 months because of the numerous cast and the three main lead stars of the series.

The show progressed so extremely well because the story was fast-paced and the acting were all great. Everyday an unexpected twist were sprung to the viewers, keeping me, as a viewer at the edge of my seat and looking forward to the next episode.

This went on for a long while until a month ago maybe, when Dave came back from the dead. Tayong Dalawa became All About Dave already.

Everyone wanted JR to give up Audrey because Dave would lose his mind if he would be put to severe stress (or in short, if he would not get his want :D). Audrey was coerced by her father to marry Dave and even went to the extreme by kidnapping his own son to hold it over Audrey.

The demented Ingrid and the insane Elizabeth were all hell-bent in mollycoddling Dave. It did not matter to them that other people are miserable as long as Dave gets what he wants. The crazy mother and daughter even pressured Stanley and Lily to make sure Audrey would agree to marry Dave.

Even Marlene also sided with the selfish Garcia family and wanted JR to give up Audrey too. What the hell! She is supposed to side with her beloved son!

It was so exasperating and so annoying and so irritating that if it was not for Gerald and Kim, I would have given up watching the stupid story line a long time ago. Everything is about Dave, Dave, Dave...BULLSHIT!

Kim and Gerald are the main reason why I watched Tayong Dalawa in the first place. For two months, I persevered watching Audrey with Dave. I winced each time they have a supposedly sweet scene because I could see the uneasiness in Kim and the always-angry expression in Jake's expression.

After that dragging Dave-would-get-crazy-let's-give-him-what-he-wants drama, he was instantly cured because his Mamita broke down in front of him. That was so full of shheeett! Then he was back to work and the case JR was working on was given to him. And the main reason the writers did it was so Dave could interrogate Olivia and lose his head again. Another reason to showcase Jake's supposed best acting Hahahahahahahahahahaha!

And then what happened next? Dave again, losing his head during their military exercise. So naturally, he was put on court marshall and he was dismissed from the military. He wallowed in self-pity and refused to take responsibility to his action. He blamed JR once again. And the whole JR-stole-everything-from-me-especially-Audrey-I-could-not-forgive-him-i-could-kill-him dialogue was recited by Dave again. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you've been whining about it for years, why don't you do it for a change?

And now, that he was the missing twin, the story centers on him again. JR was looking for him, Marlene and Lola Gets wanted to make up to him, Elizabeth would keep him to themselves...everyone's world revolved around him once again. One after the other, all the things and problems of everyone centered around Dave and DAve alone. Hhmm...I think it would be better if Dave would be killed so that everyone's universe would continue revolving around the sun!

I have been thinking that if each character had their own problems to worry too, then the whole story should not center on Dave alone and therefore would not be annoying and irritating to those of us who wanted to watch Kim and Gerald alone.

For example, Marlene and Ingrid should concentrate on fighting over David's properties and leave Dave alone for goodness sake!! But no, the writers (or someone above them) had made sure that every thing happening on Tayong Dalawa should be centered on Dave alone.

JR and Audrey should spent time working on their relationship and stop thinking and worrying about Dave every minute of every day! They should also have a conflict of their own - a conflict that does not include Dave so that for once, they would have equal exposure. We were told we would be seeing a mature Kim and Gerald here, so enough of those cutesy scenes please. We wanted Kim and Gerald give as much as the veterans in the show.

Audrey, most of all, should be developed into someone strong and successful. Heck, ABS-CBN, you are promoting Women Empowerment on TFC, the best way to do that campaign is to start with the women characters - especially the lead characters - in your soaps.

I dont think there was any hope for TD to change the story at all. I think I, and the rest of the Kimerald fans, would just persevere in watching TD for Kim and Gerald's sake. But a little ray of hope inside of me wanted the writers in TD to stop making Dave as the center of the everyone's universe in TD because it is getting on my nerves, it is annoying, irritating, it is driving me insane too.
